Worlds in Collision

2024 (series of lectures + workshop)

Some worlds can overlap, some may destroy each other in a collision, and certain worlds can lead to the creation of completely new realms. Our technosphere provides us with the opportunity to craft narratives and gestures that foster resilience among the blind spots of our interconnected lives, as we seek the right questions amidst the complexities of our communal dynamics and political entanglements. As evolution shaped organic bodies to cope with different environments throughout history, a question arises: will human beings evolve alongside their digital environments? By bringing spatial perspectives together, we can learn how to seamlessly merge with our digital histories, inviting time as our companion while nurturing a gradual and affectionate connection with the mundane world, and composting our online sediments. The future teeters, trembles, undulates, and quivers, shifting towards the present. But we are not adrift. We are the landscape.

How can we inspire innovative strategies for collective coexistence and resistance with the language of game-based cinema?

In the world of independent films, cinema holds both limitless potential and inevitable letdowns. It stems from the rapture, the ignorance, and the desire to articulate something real through the medium of moving images. If technology is anything more than a cold instrument, it is an extension of social relations.
